My Social Media Audit
I used to post in a Facebook group in 2018-2019 when I worked at the LHIN/Ontario Health and was the Unit Vice President of the Union. I also have personal Twitter and Instagram accounts that are makeup artistry related. My Instagram account is private, and I used to have another makeup-related Instagram account with over 105K followers, but it got hacked in 2018. I have not posted anything on Instagram and Twitter since 2018.
When I google my name, the only social media account that comes up is a myspace account that I created over 15+ years ago.
My Professionalism Audit
As a Registered Nurse in Ontario, I am regulated by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). The CNO is the governing body for Registered Nurses (RNs), Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs), and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in Ontario, Canada (CNO, 2022). The CNO fulfills its role by establishing requirements for entry to practice, developing and enforcing practice standards, and determining/monitors that members are providing quality care (CNO, 2022). Overall, the CNO has a set of standard practice guidelines that applies to all its members (CNO, 2022).
The Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) is a professional association representing Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and nursing students in Ontario (RNAO, 2022). The RNAO has a set of best practice guidelines (BPG) for Registered Nurses in Ontario. RNAO members are offered advocacy with the federal and provincial government; development of best practice guidelines; legal protection (professional liability protection (PLP)) insurance: cyber liability protection (CLP); access to the Legal Assistance Program; and access to members-only exclusive offers (RNAO, 2022).
I have collaborated with various healthcare interdisciplinary professionals and organized care conferences to conduct needs assessments, provide advocacy, improve quality outcomes, and provide holistic client-centered care/family-centered care. I have worked closely with physicians and pharmacists as the main point of contact to support clients throughout their healthcare journey.
In my current role in a patient support program in a pharmaceutical company for biologics/biosimilar medications, I interact closely with Rheumatologists, Gastroenterologists, and Dermatologists in the GTA. I enroll patients into the patient support program. I assist MDs by prefilling enrollment forms, Rx renewals, lab requisitions, and medication insurance coverage special authorization forms. I report adverse events to MDs and request patient medical clearance for treatment. I interact closely with Pharmacists at retail and specialty pharmacies to ensure that they have the latest enrollment form/Rx renewal form on file. I also confirm that pharmacies have the most up-to-date coverage and financial assistance info on file. I also work closely with Dynacare lab to ensure that patient lab work is completed for MDs. In addition, I also work with RNs and RPNs to coordinate patient infusion/injection training appointments at infusion/injection clinics. Lastly, I work with home care nurses to coordinate injection training/injection administration for patients.
